I would like to show you my guide to mages, as they have the potential to be one of the most powerful classes. I really enjoy playing as a mage, and I hope that after reading this guide, you will have the know-how to enjoy it as well!

Beginning as a mage can be really rough, but stick with it and in the end (hopefully, ) you will be the great, powerful master of the Mabinogi Gold universe. Err, right. On with the guide!

Let's begin with a basic overview of the skills people overlook, because they're not readily available as books:

For example, the magical skill "Meditation" can be learned from Stewart (Teacher NPC in Dunbaton, the second town) when you equip your Elemental Master title and talk to him about skills. The aforementioned title can be acquired by learning all 3 types of bolts (Just have to rank F them, and you'll instantly get the title. It adds +10 Mana, so it's quite useful to have early on.)

To get Meditation past rank F, you have to open up Stewart's secret store. In there, you can buy the book that will advance it to rank E - currently the highest rank of Meditation the game allows.

In addition to Meditation, there's the skill "Magic Mastery" that can be learnt from Lasa, the red-haired schoolteacher in the first town. For each level in this, it adds +10 mana. It's pretty much essential for a mage, if you have the AP to spare. At ranks past 9 it will add INT.

Healing is also a useful spell to have. The book costs about 9800? gold, I think. It's essential to have as a mage to save money on potions for your party. Healing yourself is not advised as it drains stamina like mad.

Enchanting is a useful spell to have as a mage - to get it, just equip a magic powder. Enchanting means that you can take an enchant scroll and add it to a certain item. Equipping a scroll and magic powder at the same time and using the skill lets you enchant. It's pretty simple; scrolls can be obtained from the end chest in Alby dungeon as practice, or you can Enchant Burn an item. Enchant burning means that you remove the enchantment on an item, destroying it(!!). It's pretty easy to do; you just make sure to have magic powder, mana herb, and blessed water in your inventory, and drop the item you want to burn into a campfire - it'll ask you whether you want to "Enchant burn" or "enchant entrust burn". Pick enchant burn. Entrust is a bit complicated to work out as it is. It involves having another person in your party, hopefully with more INT than you have, burn the item. You have to have a yellow herb in order for this to work, as well as higher grade of magic powder.
